INTRODUCTION
We do what we love, and we love what we do
Our platform AVA is a hybrid board game console that will inspire analogue and digital players.
This attraction of the classic board game has driven us to transfer the whole concept into the digital world. Why? Children grow up used to digital games, while parents are increasingly trying to encourage more analogue experiences. We aim to offer both sides all the advantages: We want to create a hybrid world in which the advantages of the analogue and digital worlds are combined.
Meet2Play brings collaborative gaming and creativity to the next level - so you can enjoy the familiar like never before.
All the people behind AVA
We love board games and enjoy playing them as much as we enjoy developing them. This passion drives us as a team and and lets us get creative for the board game revolution AVA!

What exactly do you do at Meet2Play?
I steer the boat full of AVA's creative and driven minds. One day it's crunching numbers and the next it's drawing up new product designs.
What did you do before joining Meet2Play?
Before we dreamed up AVA, I was involved with developing user-oriented products in various segments.
Game night, what are you packing?
What inspires/excites you about AVA?
AVA not only offers a completely new way of playing for all age groups - above all it creates a platform with which everyone can let their creativity loose. The cornerstone of every development is creativity and we want to do our part.
Where can we find you, when you are not working?
I have a total weakness for...
What do you think is overrated?
playing by the rules 😉

What exactly do you do at Meet2Play?
I create the technical concepts and vision, and manage pretty much everything related to development. That means managing our internal and external technical teams and our suppliers and technology partners, but also a lot of hands-on work: writing code, electronic and mechanical design, and soldering and testing new boards.
What did you do before joining Meet2Play?
I started as a software engineer in the automotive industry in Germany, just when large displays were on the rise. I developed systems to bring graphics to these displays, and it was always a special feeling when I saw people using what our team had built. After a long time in that industry I was ready for a change, so I moved to Singapore, where I worked with customers on their enterprise IT architectures and completed my MBA. The Internet of Things had just become a hot topic, and I switched to a sales role where I worked with customers all over Asia on IoT implementations – we connected cars to mobile phones, tracked goods in warehouses, monitored meteorological stations on remote islands and equipment in hospitals, and much more.
Game night, what are you packing?
A complex board game that takes a long time – A Game of Thrones is a great one. Some bags of those unhealthy snacks that you really shouldn't eat, but you just need something to nibble while you try to figure out the strategy behind your opponent's last move, if that alliance you have will survive the next round, if you really should move those guards outside the castle….and of course the phone number of the local pizza delivery. Game night is pizza night.
What inspires/excites you about AVA?
AVA has the potential to bridge different generations playing board games, introduce new game mechanics and experiences that are not possible with traditional board games, and - most importantly - AVA will also radically change how board game authors can bring their ideas and concepts to players. There are so many wonderful game ideas that you never see because manufacturing a board game is such a complex and expensive process, and in this environment there is no way to release a beta version or to just try out some ideas. With AVA, game authors have a digital way to develop and release a board game, and they can include the player community in the design process and improve their ideas.
Where can we find you, when you are not working?
I always loved to play games, RPGs and strategy games on the computer, or meet with friends for pen-and-paper RPGs or board games. Or we go out and explore the many restaurants and bars we have in our area. But often enough you will find me building or repairing something - that's not changed much since I got my first Lego bricks as a child. It might be with electronics, mechanical work on a car or boat, building something with wood, or some DIY job at home or helping out a friend.
I have a total weakness for...
A good Negroni! One of the classic cocktails, either traditional or in one of the many variants bartenders create.
What do you think is overrated?
Knowledge. We live in a world that is more complex and changing faster than ever. Even if you could know it all, tomorrow it‘s outdated. It is far more important to be open to what you don‘t know, and to keep the ability to learn.

The world and society are becoming more and more digital, which is why I believe it is important to bring the social components and haptic experience of games into the modern world. With AVA, we are doing just that.

Good grades in school or written certificates that prove how well you have done something. Isn't it much better to get your own idea of how good someone is? Isn't rating always relative and biased anyway?
